ROUND BRITAIN 2012 – SEA

The 2012 powerboat race is supported by the Royal Yachting Association and will be limited to 50 boats. The race will be run in accordance with the current Marathon Rules and Class Specifications as defined by the Royal Yachting Association (RYA), ratified by the Union Internationale Motonautique (UIM). RB12 are mindful that between now and the start of the event the class structure within the current Marathon Rules could be changed. RB12 maintains the right to widen or amalgamate Classes should the entry levels dictate.

Due to excess demand it has been decided to limit RIB entries to 40 until interest in other Classes has been gauged.

Unlike its predecessors run in 1969, 1984 and 2008, in which competitors navigated the Caledonian Canal, the 2012 race will entail a complete circumnavigation of Britain making it, without doubt, the toughest endurance powerboat race in the world. The stopover venues have now been finalised with the longest day being 238 nautical miles.

Entry to RB12 can be reserved by registering and paying a deposit of £500 + VAT to the organisers. Click here to go through to registration and payment.
