ROUND BRITAIN 2012 – LAND
On Wednesday 20 June 2012 over 300 participants (drivers, pilots and passengers) will assemble in Weymouth on the South Coast with their invited cars, powerboats and aircraft for the START of an unprecedented 10 day challenge to circumnavigate the coastline of the British Isles. We invite you to join Round Britain 2012 Land, Sea, Air marathon "RB12".
This Land, Sea and Air marathon features three challenging elements of endeavour – a maximum of 50 cars, 50 boats and 50 aircraft pitting their skills against each other in their discipline as they head round Britain. The challenge starts and finishes at the Weymouth & Portland National Sailing Academy, the 2012 Olympics sailing venue.
Established by a professional team with strong experience in Round Britain endurance racing, RB12 will prelude the Olympics with an event exclusive to motor enthusiasts attracting thousands of spectators over the 10 days.
RB12 consists of challenging routes for each of the three disciplines with 10 common stopover locations where all participants will gather with media, VIPs and other special guests for a social evening to review and award each day’s challenges.
Welcome to the LAND element of RB12 for which Motion Works are extremely pleased and excited to be appointed as the Organisers on behalf of Round Britain Limited. We aim to present an extremely enjoyable, challenging and high media profile motoring marathon for the 2,500 mile 10 day endurance.
We have established six popular motoring classes of entry covering Vintage, Classic, Luxury, Supercar, SUV and Green motoring and for each class, individual daily and overall event challenges will be set and prestigious awards will be presented. Entry is open to manufacturers, corporate/private teams and individuals with a variety of options to drive the full marathon or nominate different drivers per day(s). Ideal for multi-media or corporate team entry for example!
Entries are by invitation and limited to 10 or 15 cars for each of the six classes. A maximum of 75 cars are expected and applications are now accepted.
Join us on this iconic event of huge scale and ambition and demonstrate to the participating SEA and AIR challengers that the enjoyment and benefits of travelling around Britain by LAND have yet to be beaten!
Thank you for taking the time to read this introduction and we hope you find the event of interest and that we can welcome you as an entrant/participant to the START of RB12 in Weymouth on Thursday 21 June 2012.
