ROUND BRITAIN 2012 – AIR
The 2012 Air event will feature 50 aircraft and is supported by the Royal Aero Club Records, Racing & Rally Association. It will be open to both fixed wing and rotary aircraft.
The aircraft will be accompanied by 50 powerboats and 50 cars of varying classes from vintage to futuristic which will complete a circumnavigation of Britain’s coastline by land, sea and air, with each visiting the same venues each night.
The 10 day event will provide entrants with a challenging, fun and uniquely memorable experience as they encounter the various mental and physical challenges that the event will hold. Stopover venues will include both cities and remote rural sites. At each there will be functions providing the opportunity for entrants, guests and support teams to socialise.
Entry to the RB12 Air event can be reserved by registering and paying a deposit of £250 + VAT to the organisers. Click on the Registration & Fees page for further details.
Format
The concept for the event is to keep it as simple as possible, whilst above all else being a safe competition.
The format of the Air event is such that we have to plan for every type of weather. Clearly we the event organisers will not know what the weather is like until the day so have had to devise a matrix of challenges that could take place on any particular day.
As aviation is so dependent on the weather and we have to operate to the highest safety standards we must plan for every eventuality.
